‍
Ask any staff member on the base right now what time it is, and they will likely tell you with great excitement: “It’s a Kairos time!” As you read in our previous newsletter, this is our theme for the year. We have been called to pay attention, to understand that we must view time not only through a quantitative lens, but also through a qualitative lens.

How does this reality of time shape our understanding of eternal life, a core element of the gospel message?

As disciples of Jesus, it is central to our calling to be His witnesses and to invite others to believe in Him so that they may have eternal life. Each week on the streets of Lausanne, this is our aim. With every team we send out, we pray and serve with the desire to see people come to know Jesus through us. It is important, then, that we understand what we are inviting them into, and that we experience it ourselves.

Typically, we think of eternal life in terms of quantity. We think of its duration it lasts forever. And that is true. However, as you may have guessed, eternal life is also about quality. Jesus makes this clear when He says: **_“Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.”_** (John 17:3) Eternal life is not only a future destination; it is a present reality. It is the life we live now in relationship with Jesus. In the words attributed to Dallas Willard, **“Eternity is now in session.”**

‍

A few weeks ago, during one of our refugee home visits, a student had the privilege of leading a woman to faith in Jesus. This moment carries a beautiful twofold reality. On the one hand, there is a coming day when all injustice, pain, and fear will be wiped away from her life. On the other hand, beginning that night, she stepped into eternal life—walking daily with Jesus in a way that brings healing, comfort, and restoration.

In this Kairos year, we are reminded that the most important quality of our lives is the **moment-by-moment walk with Jesus** now, lived in anticipation of the eternal future to come.

May you be encouraged to live in this quality of life, available only in Jesus, and from that overflow, lovingly invite others to experience the same.

#### OUTREACH

## **Forgiveness and Restoration**

‍

During the recent outreach in Togo, one theme kept resurfacing in powerful and unexpected ways: forgiveness.

Throughout village evangelism, Sunday services, and personal conversations, both **forgiveness and identity became central topics.** One particular testimony beautifully reflects how the Lord was at work.

In the first week of outreach, the team had the opportunity to minister in a local church. During a message on prayer — emphasizing relationship with God as a two-way conversation — the importance of forgiveness was briefly mentioned. Unforgiveness can create barriers in the heart, making it difficult to hear clearly from the Lord.

After the service, a church elder asked for prayer. He had been carrying deep hurt after members of his family betrayed him and stole a significant amount of money. He recognized that in order to continue growing spiritually, he needed to begin the process of forgiveness. The team prayed with him for strength and grace to take that step.

There was no further contact during the following weeks. However, on the final day of outreach, news came from the church: the elder had chosen to forgive his family and welcome them back into his home.

In just seven weeks, **the Lord brought transformation** to a deeply wounded situation. It was a powerful reminder that humility and openness allow God to heal even long-standing pain. As this family continues walking through restoration, prayers remain for lasting peace, protection, and blessing.
