January 2026 Update

January 30, 2026

Welcome to 2026. This year is briming with expectation of what God can do in and through you and us! As we prayed and sought the Lord for the year head, we felt like God was inviting us to consider what time it is. He was inviting us to not only look at the quantity of time, like on a clock or a calendar, but the quality. In Greek the word for this kind of time is Kairos. It means a decisive, God ordained moment. It is the time God sets for a breakthrough, the fulfillment of a promise, the start of something new. What is critical about a Kairos time is recognizing it and then responding in faith! The people who Haggai spoke to emphatically believed that now was not the time for them (Hagg 1:2). The pharisees (Matt. 16:13) and crowds (Luke 9:44) sadly missed the Kairos moment Jesus’ incarnation and their invitation to respond.

We don’t want to miss what God is doing in 2026. We believe that this year is a Kairos moment for YWAM Lausanne. A decisive season to be embraced by faith and wholehearted, sacrificial obedience. It is a year marked by the favor of the LORD, in which we expect to see promises fulfilled, ministries birthed, and new innovations launched.

This moment signals a potential shift into a deeper level of impact and fruitfulness for YWAM Lausanne. We sense God speaking clearly: “Now is the favorable time” (2 Cor. 6:2; cf. Isa. 49:8), and calling us to “work, for I am with you” (Hag. 2:4). Therefore, by faith, we hope for an increase, a doubling (Zech. 9:11), in intimacy with God, missional impact, and Spirit-led innovation. What time is it for you? What does God have in store for you in 2026!

This week we welcomed our students in our Discipleship Training School, Ministry and Leadership Development and School of Biblical Studies. With the start of these schools, we are excited that they display many new realities for YWAM Lausanne in 2026.

Of the several new initiatives we will launch in this Kairos moment, two that we are particularly excited about is our Summer Youth Camp in July aimed at mobilizing Swiss Youth for the great commission, and our new format of DTS that combines the DTS with a Discipleship Bible School and a lot of travel and outreach! We will share more as we continue to roll these out.

A Light in the Darkness

On our first week during our first Syrian home visit we met Oma Marwa. It was such a sweet time and we really were able to build relationship and connection! In the weeks to come I continued to pray for her (she is not following Jesus) and pray for another opportunity to share with her about our God of peace.

Serveral weeks later some of our team was able to visit her, after that visit one of our translators shared that she felt like Oma Marwa was ready to hear the gospel. This past week we were able to share the whole gospel with her, and give her a bible. It was such a sweet time of sharing the Lord’s heart with her and it was well received with tears shed. Her accepting this bible was a huge step forward. We are continuing to pray and trust for the Lord to work in her heart and that she would come to know our beloved Jesus!
