Our Heart

Open Doors

Dear Friends,

At YWAM Lausanne, our vision is built on four key pillars: training, outreach, community, and global services. We are continually refining our training to be more effective and impactful, offering modular courses designed for encounter, equipping, and engagement.

Missions has changed dramatically over the years. We understand that there are unreached regions of the globe and unengaged spheres of society. Our mission field is both the distant frontiers and our own neighbourhoods. That’s why our training continually adapts to equip students for cross-cultural missions and missions within their home context.

At the heart of our vision for missional education is character formation. How can our programs help students participate in Jesus’ transformative work in their own lives to be catalysts for transformation wherever they are called?

As we entered 2025, we sensed God calling us to serve our alumni—you, our extended YWAM Lausanne family. In response, we have designed several seminars throughout the year, inviting you to return and be part of the YWAM Lausanne community once again. These seminars are meant to be refreshing, re-inspiring, and equipping, providing a space to reconnect with God and refocus on His calling in your life.

This is just one facet of our training, and we would love to invite you to come experience it. Below, you’ll find more information about the seminars. We hope to see you soon!

With love and blessings, Markus, Anita, Emeline, and Jordan

Outreach

On Field with Mediterranean DTS

I had the privilege to lead a team from our Mediterranean Discipleship Training School on outreach to Burundi. During our time there we had many different opportunities working with the youth, in Bible studies, English teaching, football ministry and more. One ministry that really stood out to me was when we ran a mini DTS evangelism seminar with the youth at a church in Burundi. We spent the morning teaching on God’s heart for the lost, our call to go to the lost and the heart of the gospel. Then in the afternoon we shared some practical tools in sharing the gospel and sent teams out to share!

I was a part of a group with two local Burundians and two people from my team. For the two Burundians, it was their first time ever going out for evangelism and they were so excited but really nervous. We shared with them that usually before going out for evangelism we like to pray and ask God for any picture, place, or word to share. We took a moment to pray and then one of the boys named Beni said he saw a street with a house and a room in the house. So we went out to find this house.

When we finally came to the house we knocked on the door but no one answered so we thought “no one is home. Let’s pray for the house and then go to the next place” but the Beni said “no we can just go inside.” He had seen such a clear image of this house even though he had never been before. He had so much boldness to just walk right into the house. When we walked in, we still didn’t see anyone there but then Beni walked all the way through the house to the room that he had seen in the image. In the room and there was a guy sleeping so Beni woke him and brought him out and we started sharing the gospel with him. Then we started hearing more of his story and it turns out that this guy in the house was from the Congo and had recently come to Burundi and was really struggling with feeling isolated and alone and was super encouraged by us coming to share the gospel and invite him to the church.

It was a really powerful time where we saw these young boys of the next generation find a new passion to listen and obey the word of God and share the gospel with those who are lost. To find the lost sheep on God’s heart and bring them back into the fold of God.
