‍

A verse that best describes our vision at YWAM Lausanne comes from the book of Habakkuk, where the prophet envisioned God’s intention for the world: “_For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea_” (2:14). One day, the reality of who God is will be fully revealed, and His glory will cover the earth as the waters cover the sea. Several prophets at this time in the Old Testament story prophesied about that reality. This vision has become like a target for us to aim at. Last week, our quarterly prayer day was dedicated to concentrating on this target as we prayed for the countries in which we specifically operate.

At the same time God apprehended us, reminding us that in much the same way as his glory is reflected in our world, we too will also become an image of that glory! Paul wrote that “_beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another_” (2 Cor. 3:8) John would later write that “_when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is_.” (1 John 3:2) The connection between our own personal growth and the renewal of creation gives us both an internal and external goal. God invites us to pursue these targets and believe that, through Him, they will be fulfilled. The YWAM vision to Know God and Make Him known is another way to describe this two-fold mission. Expressing this as a target does not imply that it is within our ability to accomplish, but rather it gives words the reality that drives all our projects and prayers.

‍

As we completed our prayer day, we were re-inspired to co-work with God in our own transformation and labor alongside him in the nations. Near the end, there was a powerful moment where students in faith placed target stickers on the locations that they sensed God calling them to.

For all of us, we should view our own life, and the context we live it in, as the arena where we are invited to work with God to see the reality of who he is become more fully known. That is a target worth aiming at.

## **Holy Spirit Leading**

<figure class="w-richtext-figure-type-image w-richtext-align-fullwidth" data-rt-type="image" data-rt-align="fullwidth" data-rt-max-width="1920px"><div><img alt="__wf_reserved_inherit" src="https://cdn.prod.website-files.com/676ab1aa32be0a232d53cc68/6a21745639e6ddf6ef8f6201_testimony.jpg" width="auto" height="auto" loading="lazy"></div></figure>

‍

Hello! I want to share a testimony about how I saw the Holy Spirit move in unseen ways and how we saw we can really trust the Lord when doing ministry. One ministry we did was door-to-door visits, where we went to random homes within the town of Matala. During our first home visit, we were welcomed by a reserved woman who sat down with us to hear what we had to say. We started by asking her questions to get to know her: How was her life? What did she believe about God? Those were just some of the many questions we asked. We learned that she had been widowed for a couple of years, had pulled her oldest daughter out of school to help with responsibilities around the house, and had stopped going to church a while ago. She didn’t really have a relationship with the Lord, though she still was a Christian. We encouraged her and shared some of the Word of God with her, hoping to stir up curiosity or willingness in her to seek Jesus again and possibly return to church. She seemed interested and talked about maybe going back to church, but then Maeve shared her testimony about the Lord’s love, compassion, and what it means to give up the things of this world. The woman became very quiet and didn’t say much, so we asked if there was anything we could pray for. Immediately after that, she began to cry. She continued crying and seemed overwhelmed by something. We asked more questions, but she didn’t answer them. As we were about to pray for her, she took off a bracelet and threw it onto the ground in front of us. We thought it was odd, but we prayed for her anyway and continued encouraging her. We then thanked her for her hospitality and left.

‍

On the way to the next house, our translator shared with us that throwing down the bracelet symbolized laying down a belief or idol, because bracelets in that culture often represent something a person believes in deeply or values greatly. We believe that is why she began to cry—because she was beginning to surrender that idol. To this day, we still don’t fully know what happened or exactly what it meant. But we do know that the Holy Spirit was moving within her and changing her heart. Maeve hadn’t planned the testimony she shared; she simply spoke as she felt led to. The encouragements we shared with the woman weren’t planned either—we trusted Jesus to guide our words. Throughout the entire visit, we didn’t fully understand what the Lord was doing, but we acted in faith and obedience. Through that trust, we were able to witness Jesus touch this woman’s heart. There were many times we saw the Lord use our obedience, but this is one of my favorite examples because we truly didn’t know what the Lord was doing. We simply trusted Him, and He moved.

## **Thank You**

Thank you for your generosity through your prayers, giving, and encouragement toward YWAM Lausanne. In just two weeks, we will host our large outreach event, Kingdom Come. This quarter, we have the opportunity to gather in a new square in the very heart of the city, and we are expectant for what God will do. If you're local, we’d love to have you join us. It will be at 18:00, June 11th, at Place des Pionnières.

‍

These events serve around 450 people and operate with a budget of nearly CHF 5,000. If you would like to partner with us as we seek to see God’s glory made known in our city, we would love to invite you to donate [here.](https://ywamlausanne.my.site.com/donorportal/project-donation-page?cId=701Uh000009G23xIAC)
