OUR HEART
A Year to Arise!
Dear Friends,
As we step into 2025 with great anticipation, we are thrilled to send you our warmest greetings! Last week, we welcomed students into three of our courses—Discipleship Training School (DTS), Ministry and Leadership Development (MLD), and School of Biblical Studies (SBS). This marks the beginning of another season filled with God's faithfulness and purpose.
In preparation for this year, our leadership and staff dedicated time in prayer, seeking God's vision for 2025. The word that emerged was clear and powerful: ARISE!
Throughout Scripture, we see pivotal moments when God called people to arise. These moments often signified shifts in seasons, creating opportunities for young leaders to step into new roles and responsibilities. As YWAM Lausanne, we have experienced significant shifts in our 56-year history, moments that have shaped the course of our ministry. One such moment occurred in 2006 when God led our leadership team to take bold steps to purchase the land adjacent to our base and begin expanding. This decision set a trajectory for growth that shaped the next 15 years. Similarly, in 2021, we experienced another shift when we "crossed the Jordan" into our expanded facilities.
Now, in this season of generational transition, we sense God calling us to arise once again. Joshua's story in Scripture has deeply inspired us. When God commanded Joshua to arise (Josh.1:2), he was ready because of his devotion to God's presence, his bold faith, his hunger for God's Word, and his obedience to God's voice, these qualities prepared him to lead and to step into the promise of the next season.
As we embrace God's call to arise, we are committed to stepping forward with these qualities to follow God and shape the future of YWAM Lausanne together.
We pray that as you begin a new year, you too will experience God's invitation to arise. May His light shine upon you (Isaiah 60:1) and guide you into the incredible plans He has for this year.
With love and blessings, Markus, Anita, Emeline, and Jordan

OUTREACH
On Mission with the Mediterranean DTS
DTS Student Outreach Testimony
This is Mafdy, one of our Egyptian students on the outreach team of the MDTS in Burundi! As he joined the team he knew that teaching in English might be a challenge since his mother tongue is Arabic but he was ready to face the challenge with the Lord. Right now we are in a village called Rumongae in Burundi. On the first day we arrived we found out last minute that we needed to share a message at the church meeting with pastors and members from 4 different churches. With only a few hours of preparation Mafdy volunteered to give the hour long sermon in English! The theme of his message was "God is all powerful" and he shared from the story of Moses and the ten plagues upon Egypt. He shared how through each plague God was showing the Egyptians that their gods have no power and He alone is almighty.
After the message all the pastors came with incredible feedback! They shared that they always thought the plagues were only punishment but now that they heard about the ancient Egyptian gods, they can see God's heart for the Egyptians has been to reveal himself to them! What a powerful message, God is moving! He not only gave Mafdy the power and courage to teach but this is a huge story of Gods redemption over Egyptians! From the beginning of the history of Egypt his mission has been to reveal himself to them and today we can see how he is working Egypt by SENDING them out to share God with the world! They can bring a special perspective about Egypt that can bring deeper understanding of God's heart to the world! Our God is moving and His plan of redemption is unending!

IN CLOSING
Thank You
2025 marks 30 years since Loren and Darlene came back to re-pioneer YWAM Lausanne. Since then, thousands of students have been launched into global missions, being trained in our beautiful chalet. At the start of the year, we have an important project to renovate the Chalet bathrooms. We are praying and looking for a team of mission builders and a budget of CHF 50,000 to be able to accomplish this project.
If you or a friend of yours would love to come and help us please drop us an email here. If you would like to contribute to the renovation project you can do so here.
Thank-you
