What is MDTS?
The Mediterranean Discipleship Training School (MDTS) is a transformative 5-month journey from belief to true discipleship. Designed to help you know God, make Him known, and take ownership of your faith, the DTS combines engaging lectures with hands-on application in a vibrant discipleship community.
What makes this DTS unique? This is the only DTS run by YWAM Lausanne not in Lausanne, but rather in North Africa. On the MDTS, your learning happens directly in a missional context—not just in a classroom. You’ll live and learn on the field, experiencing missions while being on mission, breaking down walls between theory and practice for a truly immersive discipleship experience.
Experience the MDTS Difference
An extraordinary learning experience
Phase One: Know God
The first 3 of 5 months of the MDTS are far from ordinary. Set against the stunning backdrop of the Mediterranean, this phase breaks the boundaries of a traditional classroom. Learning happens in a dynamic, hands-on environment where faith meets real life.
What to Expect:
Interactive Teaching: Learn from world-class speakers who connect biblical principles to practical, everyday experiences, equipping you for life and mission.
Immersive Bible Study: Explore God’s Word through the Inductive Bible Study Method—practicing Prayer, Observation, Interpretation, and Application in real-world contexts.
Experiential Worship: Worship in ways that move beyond a church building, encountering God in diverse and inspiring settings.
Community in Action: Live, learn, and serve alongside people from different cultures, growing together in an authentic and supportive environment.
MDTS transforms how you see learning and discipleship. Every lecture, worship session, and community moment is an opportunity to encounter God, deepen your understanding of His character, and step into a faith that’s active and alive.
Phase Two: Make Him Known
The following 2 months after the lecture phase, you put what you've learned to work on an outreach serving.
Each team is unique depending on the location to which it travels. Your ministry and activities will adapt to meet the needs of the local environment and have a heavy emphasis on sharing your faith. On the MDTS we want to see waves of missionaries come from and go to the Middle East, seeing the region transformed.
Your outreach team will be led by your DTS school staff, who do all they can to plan the outreach activities and ministries. However, flexibility and being ready for the unexpected are key parts of the outreach experience! Many teams have experienced last-minute calls from their hosts to lead services, share testimonies or serve meals! The unpredictability gives exciting opportunities to step out in faith and experience God working in incredible ways.
