Course Objective
The French Learning for Mission is a three-month French intensive course. We have a fine-tuned system that helps students improve their skills very quickly. With a mix of interactive classroom teaching, one-on-one tutoring, and exciting projects, you will learn how to read, speak, and understand this beautiful language. You will also be encouraged to read the Bible, pray, intercede, share testimonies, translate, and evangelise in French.

The French Language for Missions School is aimed at those who have a heart for the French-speaking world and want to engage with the language and culture intentionally and personally with the heart of spreading the gospel in the francophone world.
The FLM curriculum is structured around three key areas:
Immerse: Live in the beautiful French speaking part of Switzerland, in the city of Lausanne, where you will use French to communicate with locals and experience the rich culture of Swiss-Romande!
Engage: Be a part of our weekly local ministry opportunities where you will be able to use the French you learn to invest into what God is doing in this region. This can look like street evangelism, student ministries, bible studies or refugee ministries, to name a few.
Connect: Experience the rich missonal and church history of the French speaking part of Switzerland. You will learn how to communicate with locals in a culturally relevant way.
Course Activities
Our FLM program blends 15-20 hours of weekly highly interactive classroom group learning from professional French teachers from the city of Lausanne with an individualized one-on-one tutoring to fast track learning. Practice your conversation skills around the dinner table or with locals. Learn about other cultures and people by gaining a common language. By the end of the course, we guarantee your French will be much better!

Learn How to Pray in French.
Prayer is an essential part of Christian life and ministry. You'll learn how to lead simple prayers relevant to the local culture.
Local outreach and French-speaking church partnerships
Participate in YWAM Lausanne's wide variety of consistent local ministries to develop your speaking and listening confidence while ministering to locals!
Explore French-speaking cultures!
You will experience the beauty and diversity of French-speaking culture around the world through interacting with different cultures. You will also experience the rich history of the French-speaking part of Switzerland.
